Dragoeiro, CAPE VERDE
ABOUT THE PROJECT:
The project, based in Sao Nicolau, Cape Verde, addresses key challenges faced by vulnerable communities, including poverty, limited educational opportunities, and environmental degradation. With a focus on community empowerment, the initiative sets up sustainable community gardens and livestock farming systems to ensure access to fresh food, promote economic resilience, and raise environmental awareness. Educational workshops on ecological agriculture and water management are conducted in collaboration with local schools. The aim is to provide sustainable income sources, improve food security, and empower locals through training and long-term planning. The project is designed to be scalable and replicable in other villages. Agrimulimi Fresh Solutions is a business model lab through which various supply chain solutions are integrated and tested, in order to find the most efficient and cost-effective solutions that can be scaled up. Today, Agrimulimi focuses on the tomato value chain, where we aim at achieving a more targeted and efficient approach to creating sustainable and profitable operations within the fresh produce value chain.
