We, The Future

We, Belgian students and tomorrow’s generation, believe that it is important to understand the challenges we are facing today. In 2015, the United Nations selected 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) that need to be achieved by 2030 in order to build a better world with no one left behind.

The young enthusiasm of students is very contagious and can be used as a powerful tool to transmit an important message. Therefore, we decided to promote the SDGs by organizing a day of interaction, events and workshops by students, for students.

We named this day: “We, The Future?!”. Not only do we want to create awareness about the SDGs, but we also want to activate students right away. 2030 should not be on the agenda tomorrow, but today!

➤ PART 1 | WORKSHOPS (11:00- 14:00)
In 6 workshops on different SDGs, we cover common problems. Together with field specialists, we challenge the current ideas and solutions, identify new opportunities and concretise student contribution.

➤ PART 2 | FESTIVAL (15:00-20:00)
With the help of some good tunes, some cold drinks and a supportive environment, we want to introduce the SDGs to as many students as possible. We aspire to show the relevance of all these goals and challenge you not to take the status quo for granted.

➤ PART 3 | PLENARY SESSION (19:30-22:00)
We have to share our voice and ideas with other relevant players in society! This will be facilitated through a Panel Discussion. Her Majesty The Queen will honour us with her presence and we are very proud to welcome representatives from Government, Corporate Sector, Education and Youth
