Pacung
Pacung was founded in 1999 by a Dutch couple to provide extracurricular education in the North of Bali. Poverty in North of Bali is especially high which is the main reason for the location. The aim is to educate critical thinkers, independent people who show initiative. In the beginning, the school was also managed by the Dutch couple but nowadays it is run by Indonesian teachers with the help of and in close contact with many parents. Hundreds of students have since attended this school and more than 30 teachers were trained. Pacung as a foundation is facing financial difficulties and it is uncertain if the project can continue beyond 2022.
