Solid – Kenya
Solid is an organization founded in 2000 which aim to fight poverty in the long term. The organization is present in Peru, Kenya and India It is divided in two branches, one is focusing mainly in Agriculture the other is about making crafts to sell.
Our project will belong to the craft section. The region where they want to implement it (Tsavo), is isolated with little revenue.
They’ve been working in Kenya for several years and have been able to implement a business of handicrafts. It is a women owned business and it has empowered more than 500 women. Solid is helping them with the quality of the product and the marketing. The benefice is invested in the women but also in the conservation of the southeastern kenyan wildlife
Now they aim to go further and build an activity more inclusive where women and man can build a business together. They have the idea of welding birds, but Solid is letting you the liberty to brainstorm about the details.
