About the project
The main focus of the project is on increasing the self-sufficiency of Stichting Staal through the design of a financially and ecologically sustainable water supply system. Together with their highly trusted local partner, Chacko, project students are expected to investigate if and how Stichting Staal can become self-sufficient in their water supply. The project team will research the different sources of water supply and water demand. Various aspects of a water supply system will have to be examined, such as domestic water usage, finances, and the possibility of an irrigation system.
As with all our projects, the first step of the project will be the formation of a multidisciplinary team of excellent and highly motivated students. After the formation, these students will prepare themselves in the Netherlands for their trip to India in cooperation with AFDU and StichtingStaal. The Preparation Phase will take place from October until June. The Implementation Phase takes place in July and August and consists of executing the project in India for 6-8 weeks.
